To reach high performance in heat dissipation, fast heat absorption and efficient heat dissipation are 2 key points.
- Heat Absorption. Copper Heatpipe + heatsink completely covers the M.2 PCIe SSD, which can ensure the fastest heat absorption
- Heat dissipation: The extra large aluminum body + 4 grooves along the wind direction can ensure that a large amount of heat is quickly dissipated into the air from the aluminum body and then carried out of the PS5 chassis by the circulating wind
Φ5.5mm Copper Heatpipe
- When the M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD is running for a long time, it will generate a lot of heat.
- Since the thermal conductivity of copper is twice that of aluminum, the copper heat pipe can absorb the heat from the M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD more quickly and conduct it to the aluminum heat sink body.
- In order to avoid the gap between the M.2 SSD and the PS5 heat sink (gas gaps can seriously affect the thermal conductivity), it is necessary to place the thermal pad between the M.2 SSD and the PS5 heat sink, the copper heat pipe heat sink can fully contact the M.2 SSD to ensure the thermal conductivity
- Size of copper heat pipe: Φ5.5mm Diameter/4.25inch Length
Thermal conductivity: Copper 401 (W/m.K) ; Aluminum 217.7 (W/m.K)
Installation
- Put the copper standoff into the hole of 2280. Orientation as the picture shown. (Note: this copper standoff acts as a support and keeps the M.2 SSD just level.)
- Tear off the front and rear transparent film of the thermal pad. Then lay it flat on the front of the M.2 SSD. For double-sided chip M.2 SSD, the same steps, put another thermal pad on the back of the M.2 SSD
- Insert the heat sink obliquely into the PS5 slot and fasten it with the long black screw.

Just installed this GLOTRENDS brand Heatsink designed for the PS5 with a Western Digital 1TB SN770 M.2 SSD. As a disclaimer, Sony and Western Digital do not recommend this M.2 drive, but for just under $60 including the price of this budget heatsink, I said screw the recommendations. This heatsink installed seamlessly, but I did decide to use the spacer that was included with the PlayStation as opposed to the copper hold included with this heatsink (as shown in the pictures). Only complaint I could have if I’m being picky is I wish there were better different thicknesses of thermal pads included to ensure good contact with the heatsink because M.2 drives can sometimes vary in thickness, I will update with any issues but so far I’m happy.

When adding storage to your PS5 its been recommended by MANY different publications and even Sony themselves to use a heatsink on your SSD drive.
This has a single copper heat-pipe going through the center and is relatively flat.
Usability:
Seems to do the job, the heatsink does get warm after long use, but should help keep the longevity of the SSD.
Quality: (Construction/Material)
Metal (Assumed to be Aluminum) and Copper.
Comes with Thermal Pads to help transfer the heat dissipation.
Value: at under $12 it depends, some SSDs come with a heatsink for $10 more, some are $20-$50 more.
While some brands I would believe might be worth more than $12 I would buy this over paying extra for one made my another company. (since those might not be compatible with the formfactor needed for the PS5
Summary:
Nice Heatsink, meaning "chunk of metal"
Also comes with the standoff to level the SSD, but it DOES NOT come with a screw, the hole is different than than the factory so I was unable to use it, but thankfully my PS5 already had a screw and stand off.
Not bad for something that has 100% of what you need, AND some nice extras!
Tip1: make sure to use the screw they provided since the heatsink does have a thicker hole, and the larger supplied screw should help keep the heatsink secure to the PS5.
Tip2: if you don't have a flat head and you have a spare charger (THAT YOU WONT USE AGAIN) in NA the prongs should be strong enough to help you unscrew the base)
(Note: I cannot be held responsible if you damage your equipment, I DO NOT recommend it, if you ARE going to to use the charger again)
An ESSENTIAL item for those that want to expand their PS5 data storage!

My son recently installed a 1TB M2 in his PS5. It came with what they described as a heatsink, but I'd refer to it more of a heat dissipater. It's nothing more than aa oversized aluminum shield that attached to the memory chips. I seen this GLOTRENDS Heatsink and read a few of the reviews. I removed the old heatsink from the M2 and attached the included thermal pad. While some heatsinks attach to the M2, this heatsink actually replaces the PS5 M2 cover shield. The copper pipe touches the M2 and dissipates the heat through the heatsink. It works very well. GLOTRENDS includes everything you'll need and for the price, I highly recommend this heatsink above others.

Il est dommage que la pochette du dissipateur ne soit pas à la bonne dimension.
Cela interroge sur l'intérêt ; d'autant plus que j'avais quelque chose de coller sur la face intérieur comme si il avait été utilisé.
Contrairement aux images de vente le tube en cuivre n'est pas lisse et propre.
