A lot of the reviews are misleading and old. Ubisoft has patched a lot of the problems. Also read the requirements. This game requires a heafty computer to run right. I have a EVGA GTX 960, AMD Phenom 2 x4 965 clocked at 4 GHz, 8 GB of Ram, WD Black hardrive and Windows 8.1 x64 and can only run on high settings. Minimum AMD processor is the FX 8350. Minimum Intel is the i5-2500k. Minimum Ram is 6 GB. Minimum Graphics Card: 2 GB Direct X 11-complient with Shader Model 5.0 or higher. Minimum Type: AMD is Radeon HD 7970. NVIDIA is GTX 680. Minimum Window OS is Windows 7. Also this game requires a 64-Bit OS. I got a AMD FX 8370 4.3 GHz processor on the way, I'm hoping it will help since I'll be up above minimum requirements.

But anyways, all and all I have to say it is the best AC I've played yet. You can fully customize your player, with an assortment of items to choose from. Each item has a set bonus, and you have to beat certain missions to unlock certain items. I like the idea of a skill tree, but its sort of limited. You have to complete main story missions to unlock the points to unlock the skill. Kind of like AC 1 where you work your way up from scratch, but your limited by the amount of points you get with the main missions. And you have to get further along in the story to unlock more skills, which makes sense. You have 3 lock pick levels, you get the first one right off the bat and you unlock the others as you go, wouldn't make sense if the 3rd locksmith skill was already unlocked, then all you would have to do is save up, but that wouldn't be fun, no sense of accomplishment. I think they should of done something like Skyrim on the skill tree, would allow you to further customize your character and nobodies character would have been the same in the end. Don't get me wrong, with the different items to choose from, and the different boosts on the items, there will be some diversity, but not much.
There's a lot to do in this game, with all the side missions, that it will take a casual player awhile to get through. I'm not a casual player, been playing since 2/9/15 and its now 2/11/15 and am only 25% done, yes I got a little sleep in between but still :).

Despite the majority of comments, ACU is actually a very good game.

With a somewhat predictable romance story, the game itself is gorgeous and has lots of stuff to do. The main story is short, but the rest of the world is full of historical information, lots of side-quests and missions. A bigger focus on Co-Op and multiplayer is also apparent. There are some micro-transactions available, but those are targeted towards players who wish to speed through the game instead of taking their time.

With an upgraded parkour system it is now easier for the player to vertically traverse through the world, however, at times it feels as though the character is flying around the city and might as well have wings.

The in-game economy is the same as ACII, where you renovate cafe's and theaters to earn more cash in 20 minute intervals. It didn't take long to get decent armor and weapons. One of the interesting additions is that you are able to pick and choose what your character wears and uses as weapons. There was also a big focus on making open-buildings (first introduced in AC3) allowing more escape routes for the player. The thugs from the original AC game return as patriots and make every turn around the same corner a new and different experience.

The combat system is different from previous games, in ACU you can have multiple enemies attacking you at the same time. One might be shooting with a pistol while you're trying to parry with a swordsman and having to dodge an axeman swinging at you. The enemies also seem to have near perfect aim when it comes down to pistols. I have seen an NPC hit their target even though the bullet went through two civilians.

The graphics quality is superb even with my half-decent gaming rig I am able to play the game on full settings. So many NPC's litter the streets, the textures of the roads and buildings are amazing it is almost a truly living city. ACU makes previous iterations look bare and cartoonish.
People need to understand next-gen gaming means having multiple graphics cards. I have a GTX 970 and a Dedicated PhysX GTX 760. With this setup the game runs smooth on max settings with a couple of lag spikes in a couple of cut scenes. Also keep in mind I had to update to the very latest drivers to get the game to run without crashing.

There are bugs, which is always to be expected. Sometimes I will completely lose control over the character, forcing me to fast travel to a location or restart the mission. Even though I tell my character to drop down he will sometimes continue to go up a wall. The one thing I miss the most is not being able to pet the animals. There are no horses in Paris even though you do see their droppings on the road.

In the end there are so many things to do and learn I will be exploring this virtual world and playing the game for quite a long time.

Upfront. Not a detailed review from a hard core gamer. I like games, playing more during my youth, but with a new desktop with max capabilities, I used a discount code on this.

Initial Impression:
Graphics - impressive. very impressive
Game play - challenging. Using only a keyboard and mouse, I found it a big challenge. not used to gaming, and the need for so many keys, I think keyboard/mouse is not the best was to play this
Sound - quite good
Ease of Play - I personally dont want overly complex gameplay. So I set on max resolution, and on easy. I have a free eWalkthrough, that I have no problems using if I get "stuck". Time is the issue, as I didnt realize how much time it takes to get used to playing and become proficient enough to be do most thing.
Bugs - I had the game lockup once, and crash once. Not sure why, but I've also not had some of the issues I have read about during patch updates.

For a decent price I would give a thumbs up. Its complex, perhaps to complex for my liking. But for the right price, why not.

Received the code immediately and it was quite cheap compared to everywhere else when I bought it, around Black Friday time. Worked Flawlessly when redeemed on the Ubisoft App.

I loved playing the story and the controls were fabulous, there is no end to the excitement that Paris can bring. The difference in characters and wide varaitiy that the game offers you is astounding. I didn't play any multiplayer though, it doesn't work to well.
