Quality was great. Shipping fast with prime.My fault for buying, I seen 4tb SSD drive and the price advertised... open box and NO SSD is included. Also doesn't even mention any storage in description or even "SSD NOT INCLUDED" And with the prices of these storage disks it makes just buying a empty storage at $100+ dock pointless. Again its nice...if you have your own SSD its a okay dock, but there are way cheaper options with more ports. Returned.

I was using an Ivoler-brand docking station with my original Steam Deck, with an external USB M.2 drive for booting it to Windows. Unfortunately the HDMI port on it didn't like the new OLED Deck when running with Steam OS. It worked fine for Windows, but the screen always stayed blank for Steam OS, and I wanted it to work with either OS, so I thought I'd give this JSAUX dock a shot. I can happily report that this one works great with both Steam OS and Windows, and having the M.2 slot integrated is great. It'd be nice if the RJ45 was on the back, but that's definitely not a deal-breaker.

If you want to have windows running on Deck but you don't want to mess with dual boot or reinstall Steam OS, this is your answer. I took a nvme drive with windows installed from an old PC, set the boot sequence in Deck bios and BAM! I have a windows running desktop pc every time the Deck powers up in docking mode. I'm getting 942 MB/s Read and 868 MB/s Write, which is faster than SD card. The dock gets hot to the touch but the temperature of nvme drive never gets over 55C, it's been working flawlessly so far.

I've gone through multiple docks from generic mfg, to steam deck's official dock, and the sabrent dock.

I knew I should have started w/ Jsaux's m.2 dock. I had the original plain dock and it still works flawlessly. This one is no different. Read/write speeds were up to 3.6 gb/s w/ no slowdown. Dock was compatible w/ the max refresh rate on my monitor. Windows on Deck automounts out of the box (I have windows on the internal deck ssd). Simply put it just works

Here are my struggles w/ the other docks:
Steam Deck Dock
-Wouldn't recognize my screen
-Had trouble running games on windows w/ external display

Sabrent (I tried two and had the same issues)
-Max refresh rate 75 hz
-Frequent usb c port, external ssd disconnection
-Write speed would go up and down (0 to 2gbs for no reason during entire write)
-caused file corruption from frequent disconnection
This was w/ multiple power sources (45w, 65w, 100w)

Generic Dock
-Bricked my m.2 ssd, like hardcore. I thought I would have RMA it but after scouring reddit pages and multiple days of Linux and windows refreshing I got it back to life (and learned some linux...um thank you?)

Even though this dock only has 2 usb ports, no displayport, and no manual power switch it is still the best on market today.

Save your sanity and look nowhere else.

Update:
I had concerns about heat mentioned in previous reviews. I would like to report even w/ high transfer speeds the dock performs at least the same or better as other docks (as far as heat goes). Also this thing turns off almost completely when the deck is not on. No visible power going to the usb devices, m.2, or ethernet (which all other docks continued to power after deck power off).

I don't know if they made any changes since those reviews but it has exceeded my expectations.

I bought this steam that dark as the Bluetooth method I was using the stream to my TV left the colors and resolution a little blurry and washed out. As soon as I connected the steam deck to the dock and connect it to my TV, the colors and resolution are match sharper and clearer, the difference was night and day. It even comes with an M.two expansion slot for an SSD if I want to further expand upon my storage. And it provides plenty of charging power while playing.

This works fine for the ROG Ally but you can get a cheaper one with more USB ports without the m.2 slot. This thing is warm to the touch with nothing in that slot. Adding an NVME in there will add tons of heat in use and cook your SSD. I killed one already, and this was after adding more thermal pads. Otherwise it will charge at turbo mode with a 100w power supply and is sturdy.

I plugged this into the Steamdeck power adapter (to power this device) and HDMI to TV then set my steamdeck and NVME into it. Worked great! Was playing BG3 on my tv! Then powered steamdeck down and left it for a week, when I came back to play again the screen went on, then black, hmm so I unplugged and powercycled the steam deck, screen came on the TV from this dock and then 15 seconds later went black. Unplugged steam deck, didn't powercycle and plugged back in, same result. Tried different HDMI cables (the one working for 2 years in my ps5) same result. tried another power supply in case the Stock Steamdeck Power Plug didn't provide enough juice, same result.
Said dangit and left it plugged in, came back a few days later and steam deck was dead, the power of this dock somehow stopped charging my device.

So long story short, got this for my Legion Go because it says it’s compatible in the title, they’re not wrong, however the cable is so short you can’t reach the usbc port in the left of the device so the only way is to flip it upside down, no problem, but then you realize that at the minimum vibration or movement the legion is literally held by a millimeter and keeps falling from it. M.2 stopped working while cloning my internal drive after getting too hot, luckily it didn’t fry. I wouldn’t recommend this for its price or for anyone with a Legion Go… for others like steam deck or the ally maybe it’s ok. I would be better getting a dock and an m2 enclosure separate.
