What is Taika?

Taika means “magic” in Finnish and every single one of our delightful ready-to-drink, adaptogen-infused beverages are designed to make you feel inspired, not wired.

Taika’s mission is to fuel everyday creativity with our unique blend of single origin coffees, organic ceremonial grade matcha and functional mushrooms that deliver delicious taste as well as focused energy, enhanced creativity and reduced stress. Our approach aligns the journey and the destination, not just the taste and texture (which full transparency, is delightful). We venture beyond how it’s sourced and prepared, to how it makes you feel and what that feeling unleashes within you.

What are adaptogens?

Adaptogens are plant-based ingredients (often mushrooms or fungi derived) that help the body adapt to stress. They’re particularly well known in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Ayurvedic traditions, both of which have used adaptogens for centuries to fight all types of ailments.

Do I need to store my Taika in the fridge?

Taika can be stored anywhere at room temperature until it is opened. It is best enjoyed cold and should be refrigerated once opened. Enjoy Taika over ice, or if you prefer it hot, you can heat it to 170F.

How long is Taika good for?

We suggest enjoying your Taika before the expiration date printed in the bottom of the can – however, we suspect you’re going to drink it much sooner. The best before date is 18 months from date of production.

Are your cans BPA free?

Yes — our cans are “BPA-NI”which means that they don’t intentionally use or contain BPAs.

Are your products GMO-free?

Yes! Taika coffee and matcha are dairy-free, gluten-free AND non-GMO! We source the highest-quality, ethically-traded ingredients from our trusted suppliers.

We’re in the process of getting Project Non-GMO Certification.

Is it possible your products are contaminated with peanuts?

Our production facility does not process peanuts, so it’s extremely unlikely that your Taika would contain any traces of peanuts.

Can I drink Taika if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

We aren’t doctors so we can’t provide medical advice. We strongly recommend consulting your physician or another qualified health care provider before consuming Taika, especially if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are your ingredients lab tested?

All of our ingredients are GRAS certified by the FDA. Our functional ingredients are lab tested for purity and heavy metals by an independent third party laboratory.

How do you milk an oat?

Legally, we’re not allowed to tell you. Anyway, drink our delicious latte and try not to think about each individual oat having its own set of udders.

How is your coffee brewed?

Our coffee is brewed with a proprietary process that combines the best of hot and cold brewing techniques to maximize flavor and extraction.

Can I heat my Taika?

Yes! If you prefer your Taika hot, we recommend heating it gently up to 170°F.

What makes Taika different than other canned caffeinated beverages?

Well first off, it’s not just caffeine. Taika is a perfectly calibrated blend of coffee (or matcha) and adaptogens that balance caffeine’s highs and lows for a smooth, clear experience.

• Caffeine – our patent-pending process for naturally controlling caffeine delivers a powerful boost without over-caffeination.

Our adaptogen blend includes:

• L-theanine: FOCUS.

An amino acid found in tea leaves that counteracts some of the negative side effects of caffeine (jitters, crashes) and helps improve focus.

• Ashwagandha: CALM.

A plant extract or adaptogen that improves your mood, helps reduce anxiety and helps the body cope with stress.

• Lion’s Mane: CLARITY.

A mushroom that helps support memory, concentration, and cognitive function. Great for neurogenesis and neuroplasticity – helping you regrow nerves in the brain.

• Reishi: IMMUNITY.

A mushroom that supports the immune system and aids the body in coping with daily stress.

• Cordyceps miltaris: ENERGY.

A mushroom that supports better energy levels, stamina, and physical performance. (this is not Cordyceps sinensis which is a weird half caterpillar half mushroom hybrid – look it up)

How many cans can I drink a day?

Listen to your body. We’re not the boss of you. We’ve found two cans a day give us the best vibes and clarity. But and this is a big but – we’re definitely not doctors and this is not medical advice – so we strongly recommend consulting your physician or qualified health care provider before consuming Taika, especially if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

How much caffeine does it contain?

The different Taika flavors contain varying caffeine contents.

• Macadamia Latte and Oat Milk Latte: 120mg of caffeine
• Black Coffee and Mocha Latte: 100mg of caffeine
• Matcha Latte: 60mg of caffeine

For comparison, a regular 12oz cup of coffee contains about 200mg and a typical cold brew has 250mg.

Where do you source your ingredients?

We source the highest-quality, ethically-traded ingredients from our trusted suppliers. We use sustainable grown single origin coffee from Colombia and USDA organic, ceremonial grade matcha from one of the world’s leading matcha manufacturers in Kagoshima, Japan.

What sweeteners do you use?

Our products have zero added sugar and are naturally low carb. Instead, we use allulose* and monk fruit** to add a touch of sweetness to our creamy lattes. No calories and no carbs make it a great option for a ketogenic diet.

*Allulose is one of many rare sugars that occurs in small quantities in nature. On the one hand, it has the same clean, sweet taste you expect from sugar. On the other hand, it’s a monosaccharide, or simple sugar – clue’s in that simple name. Allulose is absorbed by the body, but not metabolized so it is nearly calorie-free – “all you lose”. Get it?

**Monk fruit is a melon-like fruit that grows on a vine in parts of China and Thailand. It’s FDA approved and has zero calories so it doesn’t raise blood sugar levels like regular table sugar does.

How long will it take to ship to me?

1. Orders of one 12 pack or less (e.g. sampler box), estimate 2-5 day delivery.
2. Orders of more than one case deliver in 3-5 days
