The Pocket Casts app integrates with a service known as Gravatar to enable users to add profile pictures within the app. So, if your Pocket Casts account email is linked to a Gravatar account, the app will use its associated Gravatar avatar.
It is important to note that there is no way to add or update your Pocket Casts profile photo from within the Pocket Casts apps. You will need to go to the Gravatar website to manage the profile image associated with your Pocket Casts account.
Adding a Profile Picture
If you do not yet have a Gravatar account, here are the steps for adding a profile picture to your Pocket Casts account:
- Create an account on the Gravatar site and upload your first avatar there according to this guide: How to Sign Up for an Account.
- It’s important to ensure that the email address you use for Pocket Casts aligns with the one you use in Gravatar. This is necessary for the profile picture to show up on your Pocket Casts account.

Updating Your Profile Picture
There is no way to view or select alternate profile images from within the Pocket Casts apps. Instead, if you wish to update your Pocket Casts profile picture, you’ll need to follow these steps on the Gravatar site:
- Log in to your Gravatar account.
- Under “My Profile,” select “Avatars.”
- Under “Choose email,” make sure your Pocket Casts account email is selected.
- Assign or upload the image you would like to associate with your Pocket Casts account.
