I am recently unable to send emails through Thunderbird, I get the message "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) timed out. Try again."

I've attached the SMTP settings that had been working before. I contacted Spectrum and they told me to try mail.twc.com as the outgoing server name, but I get the same result. I've allowed firewall access to Thunderbird and tried turning both it and the Windows antivirus software off, but there is no change.

Any ideas?

Hi all,

I'm using Firefox 125.0 (64-bit) on Fedora and for file downloads, I have the options "Ask whether to open or save files" and "Always ask you where to save files" enabled.

This basically works, Firefox opens a file selection dialog and I can select where I want to save my downloads - so far, so good.

The weird thing is, the default location that is shown in this dialog seems to change every time I download a file. I would expect to see the last download location as the default option, but that is not what happens.

When I check about:config, I can see the last used download path is saved as browser.download.lastDir perfectly fine, but it is not set as the default for the next download.

Is there a parameter I can set so this last path is used again?

Since we upgraded to 115, most of our PC cannot forward email larger than 5MB to team members. One or two PC can sometimes send without problem but not always.

We can press "forward" and the compose new email window comes up as it has always been. But when we press "send", it will stall for a while then responded "Cannot send email". Press "OK" and sometimes it will then respond "Creating email" or something like that. The sequence could be reversed (create first then cannot send). Cannot even save as Draft into the Draft folder on our own manged MDaemon mail server on our local LAN.

Thinking it is all due to the forwarded email being too big, tried many many times over weeks checking MD setting, LAN and individual local PC setting but still cannot resolve.

Today I tried something completely different. Instead of "forwarding one large email", I tried to attach large attachments like .jpg etc and found that it is the "attachment process" that is causing the problem. If I attach a larger file, say 10MB, it is problem. If I attach several small files, it sometimes go through even the total file size exceed 10MB. The I tried attaching just a few attachments, save to draft folder, close the compose window, re-select the draft email and then add more file. Repeating this several times I managed to be able to save to draft folder on the server and then send out an email of 49.9MB. I keep on playing with it for hours but I could repeat and can only managed to do something like 10MB/11MB.

This is still much better than trying to "forward an email" (as attachment or in-line) which we can only do up to about 5MB max.

Please help to resole this problem.

Not any more, if I try typing in a new address nothing happens and I have to cancel and load Firefox again. Never used to be like this, can anyone help please?

When trying to implement the OAuth for a live.com account the Thunderbird system seemed to lose everything. There was no sign of any emails the view was as the image. The help page we used

There were no errors or information.

On going back to the conventional settings of using a password we got information that emails were arriving via app poppups etc but still the view we get is the same as in the picture. Nothing at all in the view.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird and are now on v 128

Since a couple of weeks I am unable to send or reply to emails. The tab 'Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings' does not show any option to add or edit a password, which is required by my Internet provider. I have checked with them, and all the settings are OK for them, except for the missing password. NB: I did notice, when I checked this tab, it had jumped back to a previous Internet provider's server. I have deleted that. It's more than 9 years since I changed providers, but never had a need to visit this tab after that. Could it be a problem with an update? I am using version 115.5.2 (64 bit) of Thunderbird.

Hello. Please help! For some time I am unable to sign into Pocket with my mobile phone, Xiaomi 12T. I am always sent back to the initial sign-in page when I try. Pocket works perfectly on my Asus laptop. This is really frustrating as I often want to add things from my mobile. It worked well until a month or 2 ago. I have deleted and reinstalled Pocket 3 times, still the same problem. I have rebooted the mobile phone too, still the same problem. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Thank you
