Colourful, satisfying, fun action. Music is a huge part of the game - beats make you do some rash decisions and die. Nice puns everywhere.

Controls are not as tight as they could be, sometimes you miss point blank. Dynamite guys are the worst.

7/10 get it on sale.

Incredibly stylish anime garbage.

You have to hit notes perfectly, otherwise the music will be disrupted by your mistakes, which sets you off rhythm and leads to more mistakes. Btw music is bad.

Frustrating and somewhat forgettable. Too much mandatory punishable action for VR - one-hit death with so many guards without manual saves resetting your progress again and again (see last level). Uninspired plot, some parts feel like rewritten Portal 2. Very short story. Too many empty drawers.

It's a nice weekend filler, but definitely not the game you'll remember.

It's like budget Portal. Maze-like levels, confusing checkpoint system, questionable boss. Clear visuals, collectibles, non-distracting music. Get it on sale.

Doom Eternal is a mediocre console FPS made with gamepad in mind.
It features:
- infinite ammo
- at least 5 upgrade systems
- cutscenes
- qte
- epic™ lore

Somewhere in 2014 Bethesda game designers decided that average FPS gamer is incapable of managing resources (such as returning to ammo leftovers couple arenas back). Therefore, ammo and health must always be there in form of ammo pinatas (trash mobs). Doom 2016 was full of those, but why would you chainsaw an enemy when you can just shoot him? The solution? Cripple the player, take his ammo away. Super Shotgun has 12 shots (with all upgrades!), chaingun lacks ammo as well, rocket launcher is slow and has like what, 3 rockets? Want to shoot more? Invest in Sentinel™ Crystal™ upgrades and restore your slaya powers stolen by Bethesda. Bored of lengthy chainsaw cutscenes? Get some runes to improve Praetor Suit™ and shorten the cutscenes. Built-in grenade launcher takes too long to recharge? Use your Praetor Suit™ Points to upgrade and become more badass. Still not comfortable? Here, use your Weapon Points™ with Weapon Mods to make your weapons more deadly (and don't forget to complete the challenge to unlock it's full potential!). And don't forget to complete mission challenges to get Sentinel™ Battery to unlock more upgrades and cool stuff in DOOM Fortress™.

After getting like 80% of upgrades game becomes fun - you jump around with super shotgun shooting demons and watch chainsaw cutscene when you are out of ammo. Btw super shotgun is only one viable weapon since it gives free green health (also known as armor) after completing the super shotgun challenge. Other weapons are forced upon you via enemy shields (plasmagun), quick movement (lock-on rocket launcher, shotgun grenade launcher) and distance (machinegun/ballista). BFG is useless - only two shots and it can be used only when there is some ammo nearby, Then you get epic neon sword (also known as Crucible™, 3 charges) to cut your enemies in half if you don't have time to jump around. And then the game is over, you kill all the demons and become a true Doom™ Slayer™.

Visuals are nice, environments look really good. Maps on their own are meh, arena after arena with doors closing behind you. There is too much platforming, didn't like it at all. Secrets are boring - cheat codes, music, various upgrades, toys (eww). Secrets were made accessible for people with mental disabilities - check the map, find that question mark, break the wall with Blood Punch™.

Enemies are ok, except for Marauder - why would I wait for him to open up? He breaks the run-gun-chainsaw loop for unknown reason. They still fight each other (and that's good).

Music is a mixed bag. Some tracks are nice, some are terrible. Music in last 2 levels was so bad that I almost muted the game.

Story was written for (and probably by) 13 y.o. Doom Slaya™ is saving Earth from his DOOM Fortress™ killing demons from whatever dimension it was, who are controlled by Maykrs™ (ayyliens) who are angels, who made a pact with demons to extract Argent™ energy from human souls or whatever. Who cares about story in a DOOM game? It would be enough to give simple directions such as "kill demons", "find the red card", "activate the teleporter" and a short mission summary on loading screen. Story gets even worse in dlcs.

Overall, the game is meh. It's a flashy gory action videogame which gets boring after you figure out the game loop - run, shoot, chainsaw, repeat. Is it fun? Sometimes. Is it worth the money if you are looking for a good FPS? Definitely no, wait for a huge sale (80+% off).

Pros: Incredibly stylish, lots of eye candy.

Cons: predictable story, dash doesn't work sometimes (usually when you need it), teleporting enemies, too many buttons. Something's off with level-up system, there were no reasons to open level up screen aside from boss fights. Powers are somewhat underwhelming.

Graphics < gameplay.
