Game minimizes when switching to fullscreen

I'm getting an issue where when I switch the game to fullscreen in options, it minimizes, but you can still hear the bgm playing. Click the icon on the task bar and I just get a black screen for a few seconds. Any fixes?

I know this thread is super old but i struggled with this problem too, today i found for me a soloution!

Go to options and change the resolution to fullscreen Press "B" not "A" on your pad, that helped me, for whatever reason
