No Monster Encounters After Buying Dried Meat
Encountered Gau on the way to Mobliz several times. Then, while in Mobliz, I bought Dried Meat. I then left town and walked in the overworld. No random monster encounters. Tried resetting the game. Still no monster encounters in the overworld. What am I missing? I believe I need to recruit Gau to progress but I can't seem to trigger a single monster encounter. Why's this happening?

Sounds like you accidentally turned encounters off. Click the right stick to turn them back on.

That was precisely the problem. Thank you very much! Didn't realize the right stick did that.
