We believe that our success is driven by the exceptional talent we have on board. At Belden, we're building careers and fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and belonging based on our core Belden values: Customers define our success, we play to win, continuous improvement is our way of life, we reach for greatness, we succeed together through teamwork, we invest in talent.

Our work has a far-reaching impact across a wide spectrum of applications. While our solutions facilitate a more sustainable way of manufacturing, of producing energy and of expanding public transportation, we are also committed to advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs for our own businesses. We've set clear targets, including: Reducing emissions by 25% against a fiscal year 2019 baseline, increasing renewable energy use and electricity efficiency, diverting at least 90% of waste from landfills, using more renewable and recyclable materials in packaging. Additionally, we're dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace through goals such as unconscious bias training, wellness programs, community involvement, talent development, and responsible sourcing assessments.

We take immense pride that we have been officially certified as a Great Place to Work in 18 countries. This prestigious recognition is a testament to a collaborative team spirit and a workplace where innovation thrives and careers flourish. We conducted a comprehensive survey where 5,600 employees shared their candid feedback. For instance, our developers in Germany believe that, at Belden, we ensure safety, fairness, ethics, inclusivity, and personal growth for all with an overwhelming confirmation rate of 94-97 %. This feedback helped us identify the areas where we already excel and provided invaluable insights for continuous improvement.

Niranjana Jayakumar is an Embedded Software Developer at the Belden Engineering Center Stuttgart and kindly agreed to share her experience:

I started working at Belden directly after the university, and the well-structured onboarding phase with a dedicated mentor helped me a lot to get on track with the work we are doing. Even after the onboarding phase, I am still getting regular training for technical and soft skills, and language training. In addition to that I can also request any specific training if I need it.

And, when it comes to the tasks, I am not stuck on doing one specific part repeatedly. For example, my favorite project I worked on was developing the software part of the feature Time Sensitive Networking for the Hirschmann switch BRS. I was involved in this project right from the investigation phase, contributed to the design, worked with the chip vendor on the roadblocks we were facing, and actively participated in the testing till the release of the feature, which I found really cool as a newcomer. Also, the structure of the R&D department gives opportunities to explore different areas which means one is not constrained to a narrow set of tasks and has the liberty to choose which technical area to work on, for instance on Linux core, driver development or on more application/feature-oriented projects.

Finally, one more personal satisfaction for me is that many of Belden’s devices are deployed in sustainable sectors like public transport, solar power plants, wind turbines, etc. This means that I am making a positive impact on both people and the environment through my contributions.

Our Technology

We develop network solutions for industrial and harsh environments. We design customer-centric solutions to enable efficient production workflows with robust and scalable network deployments. These network deployments include cables, connectors, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless (WiFi and 5G) devices. Additionally, we develop tooling for orchestration, administration, and maintenance (OAM) and network access control (NAC). The need for robustness and high-quality products for our customers is driving our level of integration between the Belden brands. Similarly, this integration includes data-driven evaluations and optimization through edge and cloud applications. The software development is supported by state-of-the-art technology for each use case, e.g. our web applications utilize modern Javascript frameworks, CI/CD pipelines are based on Jenkins with Python frameworks, and embedded development requires programming with low-level programming languages.
