Ever since I joined the site, I've developed a liking for it and have contributed quite a lot to its moderation. Raised from being a freak kid to a moral gentleman, by Martijn and Jon, I'd like to join the moderator team and spend my life serving you all.

Why me?

• I spend more than 6 hours a day on Stack Overflow, mostly flagging, reviewing or hammering.
• I do use all of my current available moderation powers to the fullest.
• I've got a level-mindedness and have usually been the pacifier in heated debates.
• I do not feel ashamed to accept my faults. Failure is the stepping stone to success.
• I like Chat Moderation. I'm the owner of the public R room and do frequent a many other rooms.
• I like unicorns & waffles

Why not me?

• I'm not that active on meta, But would certainly like to be more active.

• 13k helpful flags (99.8% helpful), There's a flag of mine in the queue at any given point of time.
• Visited the site on more than 720 days out of the 750 days of being a user.
• One of the top Python dupe hammers and present on the Shog's list.

Why me?

I'm available throughout the day, and can certainly set aside a couple of hours each week to work on moderating the site. I've been helping along in the SOCVR, as well as general maintenance on questions I come across. When interacting with other users, I can be very patient. If a user proves me wrong, I'll be happy to admit as much, and learn from the situation.
I'm 1 of 12 users in possession of the "discussion" gold badge on meta (participation? check!).

Why not me?

• Missing moderation badge: Sportsmanship. It is an indication of slight pessimism from my side. Maybe that's bad, but maybe I've just got an eye for bad content.
• I can be blunt. This is something I'll have to keep in mind when moderating.
• Lacking review queue activity.

I'm a 28 year old Dev in NYC. I used to be much more active in the earlier years here on Stack Overflow, but that has waned as of late as I have been more on chat than on the site.

I have learnt so much in the past few years (going from know zero javascript to actually having a job doing it!)

I have made mistakes, as anyone in the javascript chat room can tell you ad nauseum. I really hope that I can learn from all of those mistakes and all of that learning and make great choices as a moderator, and great choices as a leader in this community

Hey everyone! I'm vaultah, and this is my second nomination. I answered your questions here.

A moderator is expected to be a fair, dispassionate and open-minded person, capable of handling delicate situations and taking responsibility for their actions. I believe I fit this description.

In case anyone's checking, I do use available moderation tools. I'm one of the more active close/delete/down/up-voters, and I also use my Python duplicate hammer (among the top 100 hammer users). Of the hundreds of flags I've cast over the past year, only two were declined. I hope this portrays me as someone who's well acquainted with the site rules. While I'm more inclined towards "field work", i.e., reviewing posts as I discover them (often within the first seconds of their existence), I will focus on the moderator flag queue if elected.

I participate in Meta (mostly silently), help managing the Python chat room on this site and expect to collaborate with the community more closely as a moderator.

Lastly, I have a lot of time to moderate on both weekdays and weekends, and would improve the moderator coverage in Eastern Europe.

I am online usually in PST from 10am - 1am which covers quite of work hours for various timezone, and I spend ~4hr everyday on SO on avg through out the 7 days a week

Hi, I'm David C. Zentgraf, web developer from Germany.

I've been here a while and have seen Stack Overflow grow from its beta stage to fulfilling its declared goal of being the de facto standard place to find solutions for programming problems. It has absolutely revolutionised this little corner of the internet, and it is truly important to preserve it and its original goal of being a knowledge base for everyone. There truly is no viable alternative anywhere close, Stack Overflow has become an institution almost inseparable from the profession of programming at this point in time.

Through the years I've witnessed the ups and downs and policy changes the site went through, and I'm pretty optimistic about the current relatively stable state the community has reached. The overall mood is generally productive, and although there's a constant need for moderation, this is typically happening smoothly and efficiently. I'd like to help keep it that way and keep improving and tweaking the formula wherever possible and necessary.

I’m Samuel Liew, and I would like to nominate myself as a moderator for Stack Overflow.

I am 30 this year, living and working in Australia. I have been on SO since the start of my career, and have benefited greatly from the site. This is my way of thanking and giving back to the community, in addition to past and ongoing contributions using the privileges and tools granted to me.

Why me:

• I will be able to handle flags in the AEST timezone throughout the day
  (approx. 9pm - 1pm GMT / 4pm - 8am EST)
• I will dutifully commit to handling as many flags as possible every day
• I have over 19k flags, of which only 1% are declined
• Sometimes, I run out of delete/close/down-votes due to the excessive time spent here
• I constantly seek to improve, and will take constructive feedback well

So who are you, again?

I'm ArtOfCode, usually known as Art because capitalization is hard. I'm a British computer science student. I've dabbled in a number of technologies across various platforms, but today most of what I do is either in Python or Rails.

...and you're running because?

Because I enjoy moderation. On the regular-user side, I'm part of the Charcoal team (who are responsible for the spam-detection bot, SmokeDetector) which lets me do the janitorial work in cleaning up spam; I drop into SOCVR occasionally to see if there's anything that needs some helping hands. I also regularly run through some reviews (though my review counts aren't as high as I'd like).

I also have diamonds on two other sites in the SE network, Hardware Recommendations and Open Source, where I enjoy the diamond-side of moderation. While user-side janitorial work is important, I find it rewarding to be able to process the moderator side of that too.

And as a moderator, you would offer us...

Accountability, simplicity, and reliability. I don't see myself going anywhere anytime soon.
