Iowa State women's basketball names two new assistant coaches

Iowa State women's basketball on Wednesday announced two new assistant coaches to head coach Bill Fennelly's staff.

The two additions — Rob Jenkins and Emily Hatfield — are internal promotions. Each has worked with the team and athletic department for multiple years, but this will be their first in such coaching roles.

Jenkins is from North Carolina and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He arrived in Ames in the summer of 2023 after spending a season at North Carolina as a graduate assistant, according to his profile on ISU's website.

His focus will be player development.

Hatfield played basketball at Western Carolina and graduated in 2018 with a degree in health and physical education. She then received a graduate degree from Tennessee Tech in sports management in 2020.

She joined Iowa State in 2022 after three seasons as the director of basketball operations at Texas Tech. Her previous role with the Cyclones was as coordinator of video and recruiting operations from 2022-24.

Her focus will be video scouting, as well as graphic design and creative materials for the program’s recruiting operations, according to her profile.
