As Sharon’s folding laundry, she recalls looking at the drawing that Cassie did. She smiles sadly and then takes out an old photo album. Sobbing, she looks at the baby pictures of her deceased daughter. Lucy interrupts at the door, looking for Faith. Sharon says she’ll be home soon and invites her in. Lucy knew she was taking a chance finding her since she has so many friends. She just came to drop off a bracelet she got for her at a vintage shop. Sharon is sure her daughter will love it. When Lucy spots the photo album, she assumes it’s Mariah. Sharon explains its her twin sister and adds that she died. She thinks of her more than it’s possible to know. Cassie was pure joy. Funny, smart, kind, and loved all the world’s four-legged creatures. Faith strides in and Lucy hands her the bracelet. She hopes that’s not weird but she saw it and it reminded her of something she wore. Faith assures her it is super-thoughtful. They all sit down and talk about Cassie. Lucy can’t imagine anything worse than what happened. When she asks Faith to hang out, she’s told they can do it later.

Once Lucy is gone, Faith asks her mom why she was looking at the Cassie scrapbook again. Is this because she was asking all those questions the other day? Although Cassie is never far from Sharon’s thoughts, she’ll admit their conversation brought her back even more. Her daughter can see she’s not exactly happy. As they sit on the sofa, Sharon explains she needs to have a good cry every once and awhile. Cassie was so special and she doesn’t want to forget a moment of her so she looks at her photos to keep her fresh. Maybe she’s been on her mind more than usual, but there’s nothing to be concerned about. Thinking about Cassie and the joy she brought is a good thing. They hug. Once Faith takes off, Sharon returns to looking at pictures of Cassie. She pulls one from the album, puts it in her purse and exits.

Summer storms into the Abbott manse and tells Kyle that he’s delusional if he thinks he can move away and take Harrison with him. He teases her about taking his son to Paris and then admits he’s just moving out of the house. He can’t be there with the parents who fired him. His ex urges him to stop thinking of himself and focus on his son. The house is full of all the people who matter most to Harrison. Summer thinks he’s not taking this seriously, but he thinks she’s overreacting. He’s tired of her getting in his face about this and tells her to get on board. She gets no say in where he or his son lives. “I don’t understand how you can be so dense!” she complains. He fires back that “disapproving, overprotective mommy mode” is her whole personality. She accuses him of being more concerned with the babysitter and his ex-lover than their son. If that’s the case, she’s determined to do something about it. Annoyed, Kyle explains that he’s trying to listen to Daniel’s advice that he be more compassionate to her while she feels like she’s being squeezed out. He says she doesn’t need to come at him with lawyers because she’s insecure. Accusing him of making this about her, Summer points out that he has declared war on his family. It’s like he’s handing her a case for sole custody. Yelling, he tells her that if she wants to threaten him, she can bring it, but he will be ready and he will win. When he reminds her that she’s not even Harrison’s biological mother, she huffs. He adds she will fail if she fights him.

Daniel and Heather are in Chancellor Park. She’s waiting to hear back on some interviews and he assures her she will get the call. She’s not so sure. He urges her to show her can-do attitude and reminds her of what a great lawyer she is. Heather is starting to think that all of this is a sign. It may be time for her to go back to Portugal. This startles him. She just meant it’s a good time to visit her dad. That’s a relief to him. She wouldn’t want to leave the love of her life and their beautiful but under-funded life. He agrees it’s pretty perfect minus the no-jobs part. They kiss and he reminds her they could return to the apartment. She has to take a rain-check since she’s supposed to meet with their daughter. Heather and Daniel talk about being unemployed Y&R

Daniel and Heather go to Crimson Lights and joke around until Summer comes in, crossing her arms and asking to speak to her brother in private. Once the lawyer exits, Summer asks Daniel why he blabbed to Kyle about her. How did he think that was a good idea? He says it wasn’t planned. All he did was urge him to look at things from her point of view. She says his attempt at help only made her look irrational. Is that what he thinks she is? They head out to the patio and he suggests that leaping to custody was something their mom would do. It would be wise to take a step back and take a breath. His sister explains that Kyle is planning to move their son out of the home where he feels safe. She’s just looking after Harrison’s well-being. Daniel reminds her of what being stuck in a custody fight did to his relationship with their mother. Summer doesn’t want a fight but will have one if she has to. How can she talk to a man who will weaponize her not being Harrison’s biological mother?

It’s best he’s aware of that in case Lucy starts asking questions. “That night…it still haunts me. It never goes away,” he says. Sharon says he’s not the only one. He appreciates her not telling Lucy the details since he’s not sure his daughter is ready to face the truth about his guilt.
