Viewers were left confused when reruns of The View began airing on Monday, April 22. Is The View on hiatus this week? Keep reading to find out why The View isn’t new this week and when it returns.

The View is ABC’s daytime talk show that has been on air since 1997. The series was created by Barbara Walters and it features a multi-generational panel of women who discuss the day’s Hot Topics, such as sociopolitical and entertainment news. Over the years, 24 different women have served on the hosting panel, including current co-hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The series has earned over 30 Daytime Emmy Awards and it is currently the No. 1 syndicated daytime talk show.

The show did not release a live episode on April 22 or April 23, leaving fans frustrated and confused. “When do we get new episodes? There’s much going on in the for them to be showing repeats #TheView,” one viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter). We have everything there is to know about The View‘s latest shakeup below, including when it is expected to return.

Is The View on hiatus this week? Unfortunately, there will be no new episodes of The View for the rest of the week. The show is taking the week off to give hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin a spring break. The break actually began last week, as the April 26 episode, in which the hosts discussed Caitlin Clark’s starting WNBA salary, was prerecorded.

New episodes are expecting to return on April 29. Until then, reruns of Season 27 will play. The show’s Feb. 15 episode featuring Jennifer Lopez aired on Monday, April 22, while the March 12 episode featuring Tamron Hall and Patton Oswalt replayed on Tuesday, April 23. The network will then re-air its March 14 episode with Ice-T and CNN’s Jim Sciutto on Wednesday, it’s April 2 episode featuring Valerie Bertinelli, Sonequa Martin-Green and Wilson Cruz on Thursday, and finally, the April 4 episode with Elizabeth Hurley and her son Damian Hurley on Friday.

One viewer was upset that The View is off this week and pointed out a major news story that the show will be missing out on. Per Newsweek, dozens of migrants who were flown from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard will now be granted visas as human trafficking victims of Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Alongside a tweet about the article, the fan wrote: “I hate #TheView is on vacay this week. They would’ve had a field day talking about this one.”

The View‘s hiatus comes shortly after its rival, The Talk, was abruptly canceled by CBS after 15 seasons. The show will be taking another break around Memorial Day, and during the summer, Friday episodes will be prerecorded on Thursdays.
