The Boys' Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (formerly The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box) started in 1988, with a simple objective of teaching our Boys how to care and share for the less fortunate in Singapore.
This project is:
*A high profile national community service project that promotes the spirit of caring and sharing among Singaporeans during Christmas season.
*A significant annual event, which mobilises more than 3,500 BB officers and Boys, and hundreds of other volunteers to…The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (formerly The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box) started in 1988, with a simple objective of teaching our Boys how to care and share for the less fortunate in Singapore.
This project is:
*A high profile national community service project that promotes the spirit of caring and sharing among Singaporeans during Christmas season.
*A significant annual event, which mobilises more than 3,500 BB officers and Boys, and hundreds of other volunteers to collect gifts from thousands of Singaporeans for distribution to the needy in Singapore.
*A unique project, as donors have to go beyond purely financial giving; they are challenged to make the extra effort to buy gifts for the less privileged in our society.
Objectives of the BB Share-a-Gift are:
*To bring cheer to the less fortunate during the festive season of Christmas through collection of gifts
*To inculcate the spirit of community service among BB members;
*To promote the spirit of caring and sharing among Singaporeans
For 28 years, The Boys’ Brigade has been seeking to bring cheer to the less fortunate by collecting food and household items, and fulfilling Christmas wishes of the beneficiaries through The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift. These gift items reach out to some 6,038 households who are receiving assistance from Government-funded ComCare programmes and from 202 Voluntary Welfare Organisations.
This is a unique project as donors are encouraged to go beyond purely financial giving and are instead challenged to make the extra effort to buy gifts for the less privileged in our society.
