Legal Assistant (Full-time Position) – Charleston
Under the general supervision within SCLS, this position assists legal staff in carrying out their legal responsibilities by providing legal secretarial assistance, conducting telephone intake, prescreening for eligibility, referring applicants to available resources, etc.
Migrant Attorney (Full-time Position) – Charleston
This position provides civil litigation and outreach to low-income migrant and seasonal agricultural farmworkers. The primary areas of practice will include employment law, occupational safety and health law, and civil rights. The migrant attorney will assist in outreach to farmworker communities, camps, and develop relationships with other organizations serving farmworkers.
Staff Attorney (Full-time Position) – Charleston, Florence, Greenville, & Orangeburg
Provides a wide range of civil legal representation, advocacy and outreach to low-income individuals. Civil litigation will primarily be in the areas of housing, consumer, education, federal income tax, elder, employment, family law, housing, probate, and public benefits though the attorney may work in other priority areas of law depending on client needs.
