General Information

An archive of historically relevant documents, including internal US government memos, studies, and telegrams, as well as interviews, letters, and other documents concerning chemical and biological weapons and their prohibition in which Matthew Meselson has been directly involved since 1963. His involvement in CBW matters began when he served full-time throughout the Summer of 1963 in the Science and Technology Branch of the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency in Washington and continued for many years as a member of various US government panels and advisory bodies dealing with technical, intelligence and policy aspects of biological and chemical weapons and on extensive personal acquaintance and communication with many of the senior officials and others involved, mainly in the United States but also in the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union and the Russian Republic.
