S4E1: No Place Like Nome
Often Nome, Alaska is claimed to be settled by gold miners, but Alaska Natives have been in the sub-arctic area for thousands of years. It is also unfortunately the site of a disproportionately high number of missing Indigenous and Native Alaskan women. When Up and Vanished host, Payne Lindsey, receives a tip from one of his producers about Florence Okpealuk, an Alaskan native who went missing in 2020, he is drawn to the mystery of her disappearance. As Payne begins his research, he finds an email from Okpeluk's family asking him to cover her case, and is compelled to continue. He will soon learn the difficulty of covering a case in the Land of the Midnight Sun as he begins his journey northward to Nome.

Absolutely Brilliant
I had a handful of podcasts that I listened to, but I had exhausted all the episodes and was on the search for new podcast; that’s when I stumbled upon Up and Vanished. I have been so engrossed in Payne’s story telling abilities. I cannot recommend this podcast enough. You can tell he actually cares about the victims and wants to find the truth. Wonderful. Captivating. Emotional. Logical. Just wonderful.

Tenderfoot is a master of podcasts
I first started hearing Dennis Cooper then Payne Lindsay and they make the perfect podcasts. Their voices their methods and their way of putting you right there in the room to draw you in are amazing. It is the easiest podcast to listen to in any environment. Their dedicated work is tremendous and driven. I’ve met Dennis before and told him this exactly and let him know how much they have changed my life. I’ve become a Victims Advocate and Tenderfoot team had a huge part of this. Thank you.
