About this eBook

A special 25th anniversary edition of the extraordinary international bestseller, including a new Foreword by Paulo Coelho.

Combining magic, mysticism, wisdom and wonder into an inspiring tale of self-discovery, The Alchemist has become a modern classic, selling millions of copies around the world and transforming the lives of countless readers across generations.

Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined. Santiago's journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams.

I bought this book years ago, intending to read it on the wish of someone wise that I had sold a car too. He had a lot of money and was buying our most expensive truck on the lot in cash. I asked him for a book recommendation and he gave me this one. it's 4 years later after purchasing the book that I finally sat down to read this book. I read the whole thing in a day it was so good. I am so incredibly grateful for the light of this book. The Gold it was hiding for me, I could honestly cry. in fact I did. Time to come home.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it has some deep messages but I really hate the storytelling and all the misticism and alchemy stuff. I personally hate books where it is unclear if it's a realistic story or a fantasy one so I'm conflicted on the rating... the content is good but the container is bad

It was a wonderful read that made me feel much better about following my own Personal Legend. Tender and graceful, beautifully written. I ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. Top marks.
