"The Witch of the Falling Kingdom" (滅国の魔女 Metsukoku no Majo) is the thirteenth and final episode of the Overlord IV adaptation. It was first broadcasted on September 27, 2022.
Summary[]
From his vantage point Mare worries his spells won't be enough to destroy the entire capital and kill all its inhabitants who are hiding. Despite his doubts, he emboldens himself to use his abilities given to him by Bukubukuchagama to their fullest against the humans, cheering himself on, supported by the Hanzos.
At Ro-Lente Castle, Climb overlooking the city, curses to himself of how they ended up in this situation. Renner holding Razor Edge asks him to follow her to her father's study.
Ramposa III without his crown has accepted the inevitable conquest of his kingdom. Being the last king, Ramposa has already laid out the historical royal treasures to offer to the Sorcerer King. He gives Climb a royal decree to take his daughter and escape by using a secret passage in the palace. Renner refuses to do so, telling her father Climb will not obey him as he is hers to command. Ramposa is insistent they escape and tries to offer Climb an incentive to escape with Renner, by giving Renner's hand in marriage. Though the offer is tempting, to Climb it is far above what he deserves so he declines.
Instead Renner convinces her father to hide Re-Estize’s royal treasures around the city, hoping Ainz will want to obtain them and thus spare more people. Renner then sends Climb to hide the treasures in the warehouse district that was prepared by her brother Zanac. While she asks her father to show her the secret passage that leads out of the palace. Before Climb leaves, she makes him promises to come back and to avoid fighting so he can be safe.
Meanwhile Aura and her pets arrive at thefront of Magician's Guild to retrieve a demonic magic item for Demiurge. In their path is blocked by Vesture Kloff Di Laufen and his Six Great Disciples who refuses to allow a servant of the Sorcerer King to pass to reach the unholy item. Before he can even announce his name, Aura kills the master swordsman, by beheading him. While the dark elf heads into the guild to retrieve the item, she orders her pets to kill the disciples slaughtering them.
Climb arrives at the warehouse and stashes the items there. On his return, he sees from the warehouse district that the palace has become engulfed in ice. He is broken out of his shock when Mare calls out to him that he should leave the area as he might be killed when he destroys the area. The warrior remembering Renner's words to return to her, refrains from attacking the dark elf and runs, which relieves Mare. As Climb travels back to the palace he sees that parts of the city are now on fire.
Climb returns to the palace to the same room where he left Renner and her father, but finds it empty. A note is left behind informing they went to the throne room. He hurries there only to find that the entrance to it is being guarded by seven Frost Virgins. One of the Frost Virgins greets him, and allows him to pass.
Inside Climb finds Ainz and his Floor Guardians have captured the throne. A dead Ramposa is on the ground, with a bloody Razor Edge and kneeling Renner with blood on her hands. The human rushes to the princess's side, who is seemingly looking traumatic at her bloodstained hands. To protect Renner, Climb draws his sword at the Sorcerer King.
Demiurge uses his ability to command Climb to prostate to his knees. Upon seeing Renner also affected, Climb deduces that the demon used this ability on Renner to control the princess to kill the king. The accusation is met with silence by the Sorcerer Kingd, Albedo and Demiurge. Ainz though addresses Climb, having remembered him being at Gazef Stronoff's side. He orders Demiurge to release Climb, who scrabbles, grabbing Razor Edge and pointing it directly at Ainz, blaming him for the tragedy of the the kingdom.
Ainz getting out of the throne is amused as he believes Climb should be thanking him. He agrees to duel Climb, with Gazef’s sword as the prize. The young man holds nothing but hatred for Ainz as if it were not for him the kingdom would have been at peace and Renner would not being shedding tears.
He charges at Ainz, throwing Razor Edge at the undead. The Overlord reacts by knocking the blade away, giving Climb time to leap at Ainz to land a punch at the undead's face. His blow instead causes the human to break his arm. The Sorcerer King grabs his attacker by his collar, taunting him that if this were a story his arge would have called for his hidden strength and cut him down. Sadly the Sorcerer King explains to the human warrior that this was reality before tossing him across the room.
He continues to lecture Climb, telling him that he will die as he had no special talent or power. But he need not despair as the world is unfair and that inequality exists at the moment of birth. But there is no need to despair in inequality as death is fair to all. And he is death itself and his mercy the only absolute thing in this unfair world.
Climb only states one thing, that he is Renner's shield. Ainz seeing the determine look in Climb's eye comments they are the same as Gazef's, before picking up Razor Edge, tossing it to Climb to continue their duel and conjuring his own obsidian blade. The young man looking at the blade in his hand, recalls what Ainz said to Gazef that Razor Edge has the power to slay him. Climb then asks if the Sorcerer King will kill Renner after he kills him. The question surprises Ainz who asks Climb what answer will make him suffer them most.
This enrages Climb who raises his blade at Ainz, causing their blades to clash. Ainz easily parries the human, but Climb uses his Martial Arts [Ability Boost] and the special effects of the ring Gazef gave him during the Raid on Eight Fingers that boosts a warrior's power beyond their limits. He manages to push Ainz back and is about to strike at his red orb, but the strike is caught by the undead. Ainz comments that the attack was a good one, before striking Climb on his left shoulder.
Ainz was interested to see if Climb's attack could destroy his World Item, but now decides that he will think about it as he kills Climb. He tosses away his magic conjured sword to use magic instead to deal with the human. Seeing Ainz about to use magic against him, draws Climb ire and he rushes to attack Ainz despite his injury/
After a very short period, Ainz uses [Grasp Heart] killing Climb easily. Climb is later resurrected by Pestonya Shortcake Wanko, waking up in a bed with Renner at his bedside. He notices that she now has a pair of black bat-like wings and is shocked when he finds Ainz has transformed Renner into an immortal demon. At Renner’s request, Climb also agrees to swear loyalty to Ainz and spend eternity as a demon with her after learning she did wo in exchange for becoming his resurrection. She warns her loyal bodyguard that the Sorcerer Kingdom may test his allegiance and it may hurt him in some way, which pains her. But Climb tells her not to worry. Renner lets Climb rest and she leaves his room, where Albedo is waiting outside.
The former princess, bows to the Overseer Guardian, in gratitude for assisting her in reaching this point and also extends her thanks to the Sorcerer Kingdom. Albedo praises Renner, who reveals that she deliberately sacrificed Re-Estize to Ainz in exchange for immortality. In fact 90% of the plan that resulted in its downfall was contributed by Renner. The Overseer Guardian is clearly aware of the new demon's capabilities and hopes she will continue working diligently for Nazarick as Albedo's subordinate. Albedo warns Renner not to disappoint the Sorcerer King and hands her a Fallen Seed as a reward in advance. Renner promises to pay this generosity by the Sorcerer King and Albedo leaves the room.
After Albedo leaves, Renner breathes a sigh of relief, glad that the last hurdle is over. Though she admits that Ainz Ooa Gown coming to the throne room exceeded her calculations, not thinking he would go all the way out to fulfill a silly role. Renner finds herself so fortunate as she realized her dream by only selling out a kingdom, and now she and Climb can spend eternity. Revealing her true, twisted personality Renner prepares to make Climb immortal before making love with him.
She then enters into a dark somber ballad, as flashbacks of previous events appear. Such as when Demiurge had approached Ainz to make a request after he read some material on the Royal Capital from Sebas Tian that interested and wanted to see. He was given permission and the demon was seen flying towards Ro-Lente Castle. Then Climb meeting Renner just after closing her window, presumably after meeting Demiurge. And later when she met with Zanac and Raeven to coordinate their plan to attack Eight Fingers to include the drug division, Demiurge who then at the time was making preparations for the Demonic Disturbance, then alerted his team that they were all strictly forbidden from killing a specific person which is shown by Entoma. Shalltear Bloodfallen was expressly told this by Demiurge. He also was relayed the new information on the raid against Eight Fingers via a Shadow Demon. At the time of the raid on Eight Fingers, Shalltear in disguise went to pursue a Brain Unglaus but retreated after seeing him with Climb, the one she was told to never attack. He was easily identified due to Renner requesting him to not change his armor. Thus revealing the depth of conspiracy that the former princess of the Re-Estize Kingdom went through for herself and her lover.
Philip at his family mansion, alone and in a drunken stupor is complaining he is surrounded by worthless trash. He notices that there is a light in one of the rooms, and finds Albedo. Albedo explains that she came to see him and even placed a barrier so that he would not go off on his own. Philip thinks that Albedo came to save him, a mere pawn, believing blindly that his misfortune was due to people envying him. Albedo's presence confirms his belief that she understands his value. The Overseer Guardian listening to the human muses that she can only be impressed on the man's stupidity. She then offers him a present, a box on the table which the noble eagerly opens, only to be horrified to find the decapitated heads of Wayne, Igor and his father. The demon then tells a frightened Philip that how dare he sully her name with his actions. And reveals that before his father died, he begged her to punish Phillip for his selfishness and stupidity which destroyed the entire Kingdom, so she begins torturing Phillip to death.
Ainz atop a rumble of a throne of rumble, decorated with the crown and scepter of the fallen Re-Estize Kingdom, meets Marquis Raeven and his faction's nobles in the ruined capital and rewards their loyalty with the conquered territory to rule as vassals of the Sorcerer Kingdom. Ainz is satisfied the world now understands not to oppose him ever again.

- Mare Bello Fiore begins the task of destroying the Royal Capital, and killing the remaining humans.
- Aura Bella Fiora and her pets kill Vesture Kloff Di Laufen and the Six Great Disciples.
- Renner and Climb meet with her father in the palace who is making preparations to present the crown and royal treasures to the Sorcerer Kingdom. Despite urging his daughter to escape and even appealing to Climb to take her away with an offer of her hand in marriage it is refused.
- Renner instead orders Climb to hide the royal treasures to prevent the Sorcerer Kingdom from fully destroying the city.
- Climb returns to the palace to find the throne room captured by Ainz Ooal Gown and the king dead, supposedly slain by Renner under mental manipulation.
- Climb duels against Ainz but is defeated and killed despite gaining more strength from a mysterious ring and being equipped with Razor Edge.
- Later Climb is revived and sees that Renner as become a demon and subordinate to the Sorcerer King in exchange for his life. He is encouraged to do the same which he accepts for Renner.
- It is revealed that Renner was the architect of the downfall of the Re-Estize Kingdom, a plot spanning many events throughout the series. Her reward was immortality as a demon and gaining a another Fallen Seed for Climb.
- Albedo tied loose ends with Philip Dayton L'Eyre Montserrat who she tortures for his stupidity in the events that started the war.
- Maqruis Raeven and the surviving nobles of the Kingdom arrive at the ruins of the Royal Capital and swear fealty to the Sorcerer King.
- The War and Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom is Concluded.
