Days Gone came to PlayStation 4 more than five years ago, and though it sold very well, a sequel hasn't been greenlit, and will almost certainly never be. So why are we still talking about it? Because the civil war that fractured Bend Studio after Days Gone's release has left a sour taste in some folks' mouths. Fair enough. But ultimately, we've all got to move on, and a public airing of grievances -- while personally satisfactory, no doubt -- solves very little. We discuss. Other news this week includes the cancellation of Netflix's in-development Horizon TV series, Sony confirming it will have a presence at Tokyo Game Show for the first time since 2019, reports of SEGA's Crazy Taxi reboot being an MMO, and more. We wrap up our snug lil episode with inquiries from the audience, per usual. If we had complete immunity as the President of Gaming, how would we abuse our power? Are we attracted to the speedrunning scene? How is Elon Musk's Neuralink already changing the way people interact with games? Is Dustin a fake PlayStation fan?Timestamps:0:00:00 - Intro0:32:14 - Six years of Sacred0:38:44 - 126 degree party0:51:31 - Angry Colin?1:01:12 - Dustin exposed/canceled?1:12:20 - The Getaway issues1:17:27 - Days Gone Drama1:29:53 - Horizon Netflix canceled1:36:22 - New PlayStation collectibles1:40:39 - Sony at TGS1:47:53 - Dead Rising details1:54:16 - Star Wars Outlaws goes gold1:56:27 - Crazy Taxi reboot2:04:57 - What we're playing?2:25:37 - Presidential Gaming immunity2:33:28 - Castlevania speed run2:40:04 - Waiting to play games2:41:48 - Neuralink gaming2:52:27 - Game within games2:57:04 - Goodbye to goodbyes

It's finally a slow news week which means we get to settle into some stories that we'd typically breeze over! Leading the charge this week is Avowed which continues to sound amazing! With new details from director Carrie Patel, the Dukes settle into a discuss about character building, choice and consequence, and the oft-debated romance. Alongside that, rumors of Activision games arriving on Game Pass are starting to percolate to the top as the Transformers games have been relisted. At the same time, we are hearing how games like Crash and Tony Hawk are due out on Game Pass shortly. What does the cadence of release look like for Activision's catalogue and how does Xbox handle the licensed, backwards compatible games? There's plenty of room for a discussion there, so let's have one! Plus more Xbox's handheld UI, Assassin's Creed Remakes inbound, Xbox Cloud Gaming arriving on Amazon Fire TV sticks, and much more!Timestamps:0:00:00 Intro and write-ins0:32:37 Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Amazon fire TV Sticks0:37:53 Activision Transformer games relisted, currently unavailable for purchase0:46:32 Lost Odyssey remaster dream is dead0:51:47 Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster release date0:57:37 A new Resident Evil is in development0:59:45 Dragon’s Dogma 2 performance update1:02:16 Ubisoft is remaking multiple Assassins Creed games1:07:44 Star Wars Bounty Hunter is coming to Xbox1:12:57 Shadow of the Erdtree has sold 5 million copies1:15:04 Flintlock Siege Of Dawn has gone gold1:17:00 Crazy Taxi update from SEGA1:21:59 What We’re Playing2:00:56 Avowed interview2:17:42 What's this Xbox mobile dashboard?2:24:01 Activision Games to Game Pass soon2:30:39 Coming soon to Xbox Game Pass2:36:19 Game Pass Pick Of The Week2:39:12 Another Mt Rushmore2:53:31 Wrapup

Just recently, Nintendo held its annual shareholder meeting with a full q and A with their stockholders. While the official translation of the meeting is not available yet, we’ve gotten of few interesting bits to look at that people have translated. Is Miyamoto taking care of himself as he gets older? What is Nintendo doing to prevent shortages of the next console? Also, there’s two fresh lawsuits Nintendo is filing against alleged pirates. Welcome to a special, one-topic-driven episode of Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, I (Colin) am joined by Punching Up co-host Gene Park, Sacred Symbols co-host Chris Ray Gun, and storied game designer David Jaffe, and we gather for a some-four-hour chat all about the first of two scheduled presidential debates for the 2024 election cycle between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This is obviously an exclusively, deeply political conversation, so be warned before you hit play. We touch on just about everything imaginable: The debate itself, the fallout thereafter, who we think will ultimately win, if we believe that Biden specifically will even ultimately be one of the nominees, and -- of course -- we get deep into the weeds on all of the important issues they spoke about during the debate, and more. Again, be warned: If you don't like or care about politics, or if you get upset when you hear serious, adult opinions you don't agree with, don't listen or watch. For those with open minds and a curiosity for a wide variety of opinions, however, please enjoy.

When we were talking about what we were going to do for Sacred+ this week, it dawned on me (Dustin) that I haven't done a mailbag all year. So here it is, and timely too, since I'll soon be stepping back for a bit on paternity leave. Discussion topics include: boardgames, gaming tattoos, rollercoasters, relationship advice, JRPG blindspots, and much more! Pleas enjoy.

Good news emanates from South Korea, where developer Shift Up announced that PS5-exclusive release Stellar Blade has surpassed a million copies sold. To the rational thinking person, this is obviously a great accomplishment for a niche and provocative release on a single platform, and yet there are know-nothings debating its success. Thus, we correct the incorrect while also talking about Stellar Blade's future, including DLC, a PC port, and -- ultimately! -- a sequel. Other news this week includes details for Concord's upcoming closed and open betas, the surprising return of Capcom zombie-killing classic Dead Rising, fresh PSone-era collections for the likes of Fear Effect and Fighting Force, percolating rumors about PlayStation 3 emulation finally coming to PS4 and PS5, and much more. As always, we wrap things up with inquiries from you, the audience. What do we think about a Guerrilla producer's desire to get Aloy in Smash Bros? Is poor media literacy stopping gaming from reaching its true potential? Which random PlayStation 2 games would we like to see ported to modern hardware? If we could go back to the 17th century and permanently scar a peasant child with a video game experience, which one would we choose?Timestamps:0:00:00 - Intro0:13:04 - Independent wrestling promoter 0:15:22 - Bread0:34:26 - Rotating third chair?0:45:31 - chips in the microwave?0:54:12 - Taking a game back in time1:05:09 - Concord beta details1:16:27 - Astro Bot's dev team is 60 people.1:33:49 - PS3 emulation rumors1:47:35 - Smaller news items1:58:00 - What we're playing2:26:41 - Stellar Blade sells over one million2:38:04 - PSVR 2 woes2:59:39 - Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster3:08:14 - Limited Run Games announcements 3:15:38 - New PS Plus games3:27:33 - Retro PlayStation Podcast3:33:43 - Smash-like PlayStation game3:50:39 - Media literacy in gaming4:04:09 - Stranded PS2 games4:15:17 - Boss Rush mode4:20:17 - Fixing the amount of games

In a relatively slow week, we're able to settle into a major interview conducted by Variety with the one and only, Matt Booty. Sitting as Xbox Game Content and Studios President, Matt Booty was a major factor behind Xbox's decision to shut down four Bethesda studios. In the brand's third attempt to answer the deeper reasoning behind these closures, we get a few more breadcrumbs that leave room for assumption on the matter. Alongside that, Booty speaks on the Xbox exclusive situation with remains relatively unclear moving into the future. It's time for more Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, I (Colin) am joined by Defining Duke's Lord Cognito, Summon Sign's Brad Ellis, and Lockmort's Edit's... Lockmort. We have a very nerdy episode in store for you. I start things off by talking about my love of plants, flowers, and gardening. My hobby has blossomed (pardon the pun) into a larger part of my life recently. Is anyone else nurturing a green thumb? Cog wants to dive into the realm of indie games, a widely-evolved subsection of the console and PC space that has grown far beyond its traditional definition. Do we partake in the scene? And just what is an indie game, anyway? Lockmort's intrigued by a hypothetical zombie apocalypse, in which we'd all be tasked to survive on our own. What would be our first moves following the outbreak? Would we rely on our humanity to stay alive, or potentially lose it along the way? Finally, we come to Brad, who waxes about downloadable content, or DLC. What was our first-ever encounter with digital add-ons? Do we purchase much DLC in our day-to-day gaming lives? What's the best expansion ever? All of that -- and more! -- on the other side of the play button.
