For some display makers, 2023 will have ended in much the same way as it began. Weak demand in several consumer markets has caused shipments and revenues to decline and even led some manufacturers to call on their suppliers to make price cuts. The makers of liquid crystal display (LCD) TV panels are facing a particularly uncertain start to 2024. In this special report, we will highlight some of the challenges they will have to overcome in the next twelve months.
Panel makers in other areas will be more optimistic about the year ahead as new technologies and markets are emerging. In addition to outlining the struggles within the TV display segment, we will focus on two areas of potential growth – panoramic head-up displays in the automotive sector and the use of OLED screens in mobile PCs.
