Jaron May

Anchor

Jaron May started working as a sports reporter for Waterman Broadcasting in July 2022.

Jaron grew up in a very competitive, sports-oriented family. However, being the youngest of three, the athlete gene ran dry by the time he came around. Without genetics on his side and four broken elbows later, Jaron hung up his cleats and married his passion of sports with his love of public speaking to begin his sports broadcasting career.

That career blossomed when he attended Syracuse University (Go Orange!) where he earned a journalism degree in 2022.

While at SU, Jaron capitalized on everything the school offered. He was the Sports Director at WAER, the most successful student run radio station in the country. He also held a plethora of positions at the ESPN-owned ACC Network, CitrusTV and WJPZ.

Jaron’s hard work at Syracuse earned him multiple national awards. During his senior year, he was named a 2022 Jim Nantz Award First Team All-American, which is an honor given to the top-five collegiate sports broadcasters in the country.

As Massachusetts native, Jaron was very spoiled when it came to sports growing up. He spent his time cheering on the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox, and went to quite a few championship parades.

Outside of work, you can find Jaron working on his golf game, soaking up the Florida sun, or catching up with family and friends.
