These are artificial eyes modelled after the Uchiha clan's Sharingan, created by Teguse and implanted in Merz. Unlike normal Sharingan, these artificial eyes are capable of copying other dōjutsu that could only be used by certain bloodlines. Despite being artificial, it could also attain a Mangekyō Sharingan state, directly mirroring the design of the copied Mangekyō when using said target's personal techniques.
Due to Merz's eye sockets requiring cybernetic implants to accommodate the eyes, especially the left one to be near-completely rebuilt, it left the new eye to be bulging out and a poor fit.
