Emio game rated in Australia & New Zealand

Nintendo dropped quite a bombshell for fans earlier today. The company release a teaser trailer for a game with very little information, with the hashtag #WhoIsEmio. All that is really known at this time is that the game looks to be a horror game, and the teaser trailer is called “Emio“. That said, Nintendo fans in Australia and New Zealand got a tiny bit more information.

You see, the Australia and New Zealand version of Nintendo’s teaser trailer has ratings information for both countries. For Australia, the game is rated MA 15+, and it will contain “strong themes, violence and suicide references”. New Zealand’s rating is Restricted 13, and the notes for that rating mention “violence, cruelty, domestic abuse and suicide themes”. You can see a social media post relaying the news down below.

  1. It would be nice if Nintendo’s comfortable market dominance makes them more open to experimenting with genres and themes outside their typical known standards.

  2. excited for this, this is something pretty original from Nintendo these days, horror games don’t spook me no more, but I hope it turns out to be great artistically and story wise!
