Survivor description

Xenomorphs, also called hologram targets, is the collective name for four types of holographic enemies encountered in the Training mode of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt.

Description[]

Xenomorphs act as holographic enemy targets in Samus Aran's training missions, serving to test her Bounty Hunter skills. In Regulator mode, Samus's goal is to destroy all Xenomorphs within a time limit. In Survivor mode, Samus must destroy as many infinitely-spawning Xenomorphs as she can before running out of energy. In Morph Ball mode, only Zoomer Xenomorphs appear as minor obstacles. By comboing Xenomorphs without missing a shot, Samus earns extra points.

There are three main varieties of Xenomorphs: Mochtroids, Tallon Metroids, and Zoomers. Tallon Metroids and Zoomers behave identically to their appearance in Metroid Prime: Tallon Metroid Xenomorphs beeline towards Samus Aran and attempt to latch onto her, while Zoomer Xenomorphs crawl on surfaces and only deal damage on contact. Mochtroids, making their only 3D game appearance, have unique behavior as Xenomorphs: they do not actively attack Samus, but can nevertheless harm her by physical contact, and they twist their bodies to disappear before reappearing elsewhere nearby. Of the three Xenomorphs, Mochtroids are the easiest to kill, only needing two Power Beam shots to dispatch them.

At the end of Regulator mode, a unique Xenomorph spawns: a doppelgänger of Samus Aran, using the green 2P color scheme from the demo's Multiplayer mode. This battle plays out similarly to fighting a Sambot in Metroid Prime Hunters' Multiplayer Mode, although there are otherwise no bots in this demo. Defeating the Samus Xenomorph will complete the training mission.

Xenomorphs are exclusive to the First Hunt demo and do not appear in the full game, Metroid Prime Hunters, although non-holographic Zoomers appear as enemies in Adventure Mode.
