Residence of Samus Aran manga exterior

The exterior of Samus's home in the Magazine Z manga.

Samus Aran's residence has been depicted in multiple spinoff comics and manga in the Metroid series. The games have not as of yet established where she lives, only depicting Samus traveling by way of her Gunship.

Metroid Magazine Z manga[]

While the stories below are not part of the Metroid timeline, the Magazine Z manga is considered canon. The manga's first chapter opens with Samus flying her Gunship to an unspecified planet before landing in a docking bay outside a large building. It is unclear whether this is a single home owned by Samus, or a larger residential building that she resides in.

All that is seen of Samus's residence is her kitchen and bedroom. The former features a mounted screen that Samus interfaces with while holding a cup, with two canisters on a counter behind her. Other features like a faucet, an appliance (potentially a pot or toaster) and garbage bag are visible in the background. Samus's bed is next to a large window, through which a dense forest and city can be seen. During this scene, Samus curls up into bed and reflects on the past, leading into a flashback of the massacre on K-2L.

Residence of Samus Aran in SM comic

The Super Metroid comic in Nintendo Power has the earliest depiction of Samus's home. Its opening chapter shows Samus as living in a small residence with a cot bed, stove, refrigerator and toaster, and a bathroom in the next room. After waking up from a nightmare at five in the morning, she takes a shower and has a drink before donning her Varia Suit and taking off in her Gunship.

Residence of Samus Aran in SM manga

In the final comic of this series, Samus is shown turning off the lights in a near empty room with her Grapple Beam, before going to sleep under a kotatsu. The baby rests atop the kotatsu in a small bowl. The room is barren aside from a ceiling lamp, a television with a massive antenna and a bookshelf to its side. The walls have cracks in them. While not confirmed, this location is likely meant to be her home.
