A "Mawkin starship" is a type of spacecraft used by the Mawkin. They appear as background fodder in Metroid Dread. It is unclear whether the ships are capable of combat. They resemble stingrays with two forward outstretched prongs and a pointed cockpit with a red emblem on its bow.
Four of them are docked in midair in the background of the upper and lower shipyards in Hanubia. They slightly jostle in the wind. When visiting the upper shipyard for the first time, the Elite Chozo Soldier jumps off one of the ships onto another platform and leaves the room. The action causes the ship to buck before it resumes its "jostling" animation.
Two more of these ships appear in the lower shipyard. Mysteriously, by the time Samus re-enters this room during the countdown sequence, they have disappeared. This may suggest that they were destroyed by explosions, or more ominously, were used by unknown parties - perhaps X infected - to escape ZDR before its destruction.
