Isamu Kubota

Nintendo Official Guide Book for Super Metroid

Isamu Kubota (born January 23, 1971 in the Tokushima Prefecture) is a programmer at Intelligent Systems, and was one of the programmers for Super Metroid. He programmed Samus Aran, Phantoon, small enemies, the title, the opening, and the ending demos. In the interview within the Nintendo Official Guide Book for Super Metroid, he claimed that Samus was in her "late 20s". Whether this is canon or simply Kubota's personal belief is unclear. Samus's age has never been revealed in the series, with the Japanese Metroid Prime website stating her age is unknown. He cleared Super Metroid in 2:24 with 89% of items collected.[1]

His favorite musicians are B'z and Hideaki Tokunaga.

He was the main programmer of Galactic Pinball, which featured Samus Aran's Gunship and is viewed as a precursor to Metroid Prime Pinball.
