Blueroot Trees are a type of plant that can be found in the Agon Wastes. The leaves are very poisonous to most, but considered a "delicacy" by the Space Pirates. When Samus Aran walks into the tree while using either the Combat or Scan Visors, her visor will be flooded with a harmless blue light until she leaves. This will not occur during use of the Dark or Echo Visors due to their use of different spectrum viewing technology. Additionally, a high-pitched pulsing sound can be very faintly heard when walking into a Blueroot tree.

Morphology: Blueroot Tree
Highly poisonous plantform. Durable tree with venomous leaves, found on several worlds in desert climate zones.

Logbook entry

The Blueroot tree is common on worlds with desert regions. While an elegant, attractive plant, the tree's leaves are highly toxic. Few species can ingest the species and live: many of them (such as Space Pirates) consider the deadly Blueroot leaf a delicacy.

Trivia[]

  • Strangely, the Blueroot Tree's trunk seems to have no actual density, although its leaves do. Whether or not this is purposeful is unknown.
  • The Blueroot Tree is slightly similar to the Cyrlic tree encountered on the Chozo-inhabited Tallon IV and Elysia. Since the Chozo and Luminoth were known to have interacted with each other and exchanged local fauna, it may be that the Blueroot and Cyrlic trees are related.
  • There is also a dark variant in the Dark Agon Wastes which is black in color and floods Samus' HUD with red light.
