Same... and it's because, A.: most of their questions have already been answered and they know how to use a search engine and, B.: they've seen how new people are treated and they want no part of it.

Number of non-paying members (no fee, no ads to make revenue on), or the number of casual browsers (who do see the ads). A high number on the first just gives you bragging rights. A high number of the second can actually give a ROI.
