Imagine you could go back in time and tell your younger self exactly what you wish you knew then. Alternatively, imagine what a pain in the ass it would be to have a not quite middle-aged version of yourself judging your every move before you even make it. Well, this is the uniquely infuriating scenario in which Elliott finds herself— or herselves? — in My Old Ass.

Written and directed by Megan Park (the filmmaker behind the stellar and sadly underseen dramedy The Fallout), My Old Ass is a comedy that won praise out of Sundance. The movie stars Maisy Stella as the teen version of Elliott, while Aubrey Plaza plays Elliott's older self who's been transported back in time courtesy of a drug trip. Together, can they avoid a defining heartbreak in Elliott's life? Better appreciate what they have in the present? Stop worrying about the future?

We'll find out when My Old Ass opens in theaters Sept. 13.
