This 'House of the Dragon' character is quickly becoming more hated than Joffrey

Remember the smirking, smug, sadistic face of Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) in Game of Thrones? Well there's a new love-to-hate face in House of the Dragon that may just have said, "Hold my poisoned goblet."

We're talking of course about Sir Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel), who this week channelled his own guilt about not doing his job properly by cheerfully sending another man to his death.

Cole has slowly grown more hatable over the course of the show, starting with his seething reaction to Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) rejecting him in Season 1 and bubbling away in a repressed cauldron of misogyny ever since.

Now, the mere sight of him is enough to enrage fans.

Will people celebrate Sir Criston Cole's eventual demise as hard as they celebrated Joffrey's? Time will tell, but it certainly seems to be heading that way.

House of the Dragon Season 2 airs Sundays on HBO and Max at 9 p.m. ET.
