Apple has officially announced its October event focused on the Mac. The event — which the tech giant named "Scary Fast" — will take place on Monday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. ET.

It had been rumored that Apple fans would get a Mac-focused event at the end of October, and now it's official. The details of the event are quite scarce. But here's what we know: The logo on the Apple Event site cleverly shifts in the (somewhat creepy) face of Mac's Finder Icon, which would seem to confirm that the event is centered on the Mac.

The name of the event might also hint at some of the rumored upgrades to the Mac line. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman — who routinely has the inside scoop on Apple news — reported the MacBook Pros could get new chips. That would make them faster, no? Gurman has also reported the October event could reveal a new version of the iMac.

We don't know for sure what changes are coming but now we won't have to wait much longer.
