Synopsis
Due to rising tensions, San Francisco has been segregated into Human and Mutant areas. Luis Reyes, Chief of Mutant Response Division is holding a peaceful rally in honor of the deceased Professor X, when suddenly the event is attacked by a group know as the Purifiers who are set on rounding up mutants and taking them prisoner.

Notes
This game deviates from the mainstream X-Men canon in a number of areas. Notably, as Juggernaut (Earth-616) is not a mutant, he is the avatar of Cytorrak and Pixie's teleportation ability is magic based, not part of her mutation.
Trivia
Though he does appear, this is the first game featuring X-Men characters, without Wolverine being playable.
This game takes place after/during the X-Men's move to San Francisco. Quicksilver lost his powers during the M-day event, long before the move.
