Synopsis
Following the tragic loss of his beloved Dr. Christine Palmer in a heart-wrenching car crash, Dr. Stephen Strange embarks on a soul-searching journey that leads him to the mystical enclave of Kamar-Taj. Under the tutelage of the enigmatic Ancient One and alongside the stalwart Wong, Strange delves deep into the esoteric arts, unraveling the secrets of mysticism. In his quest for power, Strange unearths the fabled Eye of Agamotto, a relic imbued with the ability to manipulate time itself. Despite stern warnings from the Ancient One and Wong about the dire consequences of tampering with the fabric of reality, Strange becomes consumed by an unwavering determination to alter the past and save Palmer. Over the course of two grueling years, Strange relentlessly endeavors to rewrite fate, utilizing the Eye in desperate attempts to rescue Palmer from her tragic demise. However, each effort leads to a heartbreaking conclusion as Palmer succumbs to death in every envisioned scenario. The Ancient One imparts a sobering truth to Strange, revealing Palmer's death as an unchangeable "absolute point" in the intricate tapestry of time. Undeterred by the Ancient One's cautionary wisdom, a tormented Strange obstinately refuses to heed her counsel, driven by an obsession to defy the immutable decree of fate. In a dire turn of events, fueled by a craving for absolute power and an unrelenting refusal to accept loss, the Ancient One is compelled to intervene drastically. Through the employment of the potent forces dwelling within the Dark Dimension, the Ancient One executes a perilous maneuver, cleaving Strange into two divergent iterations. One embodies acceptance of Palmer's tragic demise, while the other, consumed by a thirst for omnipotence, embraces the forbidden path, absorbing mystical entities to ascend as the malevolent and omnipotent Strange Supreme. As the clash between the two Strange variants ensues, the malevolent Strange Supreme emerges victorious, subsuming his benevolent counterpart and harnessing his amalgamated might to shatter the barriers of reality itself. In a haunting twist, Strange Supreme, wielding godlike power, resurrects Palmer, inadvertently triggering a cataclysmic rupture that plunges the universe into the throes of collapse.
Desperate and consumed by remorse, Strange Supreme beseeches the cosmic overseer, the Watcher, for salvation. Yet, the Watcher, bound by cosmic laws, remains steadfast in his refusal to intervene. Trapped in the cataclysmic aftermath, Palmer meets a tragic fate, disintegrating into oblivion, as the very fabric of existence unravels, leaving Strange Supreme to mourn in desolate isolation amidst the ruins of a shattered universe.
