After most of the original Fantastic Four were killed by De'Lila, Spider-Man assembled a new team consisting of himself, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Hulk. A new Frightful Four was sent against them. They then had to contend with a Mephisto-possessed Doctor Doom, which they successfully fought off. Spider-Man and his team were celebrated as heroes by the public, encouraging them to stay together.^[1]
