Peter Parker was a high school student on a field trip, when he was saved by his classmate Cooper Coen from being bitten by a radioactive spider, for which Cooper was bitten instead and unknown to Peter, gained super-human abilities. Years later, he and Coen were roommates and worked as a photographer for the Daily Bugle. After Coen got a job for Van Dyne, he helped Peter get a job as a runway photographer and was present taking photographs for New York Fashion Week.^[1]
