The Marvel Database Project came online March 18th, 2005 as a non-profit site, with the goal of becoming the largest online database pertaining only to Marvel Comics. This site, aka the MDP, is the creation of Jamie Hari. Thanks to the open source software, provided by the MediaWiki foundation, we are able to extend support of this reference to the Marvel Comics fanbase.

The Database uses the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (aka OHOTMU) and published Marvel works as its primary source of information.

Users are encouraged to list references for the content they submit. Plagiarism is not allowed on this site and plagiarized content will be removed, updated, or appropriately credited with permission from the creator. • Images (Cover Art, Character Art and Fan Art)
• Information on Marvel's Earth-616 reality and most other alternate realities
• Profiles on real Marvel contracted employees, past and present.
  • Special Case: Conan the Barbarian (Major interactions and impact on Earth-616).
  • Special Case: DC Crossovers that have lasting impact on existing Marvel realities.
  • Special Case: IDW and Marvel's Marvel Action young reader collaboration.

What you won't find:

• Non-Marvel comics
  • Exceptions: Creator owned and/or re-published comics published by a Marvel-owned imprint.
• Star Trek comics
  • Exceptions: Officially licensed comics published by Marvel.
• Media based on non-Marvel properties
  • Exceptions: Listing of adaptations of creator owned works that either:
    • Originated from comics that were originally published by a Marvel-owned imprint.
    • Or the majority of the source material was published by a Marvel-owned imprint.
