Judith Rassendyll was an ordinary New York woman, or so she thought until she was kidnapped by the criminal Arcade while out jogging, and taken to Murderworld, Arcade's theme park-style deathtrap. Judith was rescued, however, by the X-Man Nightcrawler, whom she was attracted to. Once she was rescued, Judith found out she was Queen of Ruritania from Colonel Max Reiger of the Ruritanian National Guard, and Colin Lewis of the State Department. She then left America to rule Ruritania.^[1]

Judith was later seen in London's St. Paul's Cathedral, marrying an elderly royal, apparently for politically expedient reasons. During the wedding, the ceremony was invaded by Nightcrawler's teammate Shadowcat and the X-Babies, who were fighting The Agent. The rest of Excalibur, including Nightcrawler, came to the rescue. Judith's groom apparently suffered some kind of heart attack in the excitement of events, and Judith admired Nightcrawler once again. It's unclear if Judith went through with the marriage, or if her groom survived.^[2]
