History
The origins of this armor date back to Knull's invasion of Earth, during which Iron Man used the Extrembiote to take control of a dead Celestial formerly in Knull's control.[1] He repurposed the Celestial corpse into a wormhole generator called Project A.R.K.[2] After the Hulk hijacked the teleporter to exit reality, nearly killing Iron Man in the process,[2] Tony Stark converted the corpse of the Celestial into a gigantic Hulkbuster Armor.[3]
Stark deployed this suit after the Hulk was spotted at the Black Hand of God arena fighting Thor. Iron Man overpowered the Hulk in the armor, but he received constant interference from Odin whose spirit inhabited Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. However, Banner was no longer in control of Hulk, causing Hulk's rage to go out of control and eventually unleash a massive gamma explosion, wrecking the armor.[3][4]
The gamma explosion caused Thor to be transformed into an out-of-control gamma mutate. Iron Man tried to use the armor to subdue Thor, but Thor destroyed what remained of the armor.[5]Properties
Befitting its massive size, the armor possesses immense levels of strength and durability, though it could barely withstand a blow from Mjolnir. It also possesses various weapons, including missile batteries and guns powerful enough to hurt the Hulk and devastate a large area. On its palms are energy weapons. It's capable of interplanetary flight, traveling from Earth to the Black Hand of God in a short amount of time. The armor was also designed to absorb and withstand large amounts of gamma energy, enabling it to shield Iron Man from a gamma explosion with the power of approximately 3000 Gamma Bombs, though the armor was heavily damaged.[3][4]
