The "Cajuns" or "Cajun" are an ethnic group mainly living in the United States of America in the state of Louisiana. The Cajuns are descended from the immigrants from France which was settled as part of the French Empire. As native French speakers the make up a significant portion of south Louisiana's population and have had an enormous impact on the state's culture.

Wolverine and his other team mates would often insult and derogatory terms towards their Cajun team mate Gambit such as; "Cajun",^{[citation needed]} "Gumbo",^{[citation needed]} "Loverbayou",^[1] "Swamp Rat",^[2] and many more.
