After sharing this initial roadmap and answering questions about the Media Corps experimental project, it’s time to flesh out the next steps and get down to work. To that end, I’ll be hosting a kickoff call next week with @bernard0omnisend, @hellosatya, @jenblogs4u, and @mohiuddinomran, who expressed interest in helping with the project’s first phase.

We will also be joined at this meeting by @bobdunn-trainer as a media advisor. Bob has kindly offered to lend his insights at this early stage on behalf of the media side. I’m sure his input and perspective will be invaluable in helping to shape the experiment and make better-informed decisions.

The main goals of this call will be to review the current roadmap, set a direction for the upcoming weeks, and clarify any questions about the contributor work.

- Individual outreach to potential media partners to confirm their interest
- Surveying media partners who confirm interest in participating to help inform the next phase
Talk through clarifications around the current criteria
Steps and tasks for the coming weeks

    I hadn’t considered what various meetings would be held. Only that the kick off is not occurring in SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/., which is fine. But generally all teams consider meetings not in Slack to be supplementary, and recordings are available. I thought to inquire in this case.

      It’s always good to ask, so thank you! The idea of this meeting was to talk with the folks who have expressed interest in contributing, just so we can start a group to help kick-start the first phase of the project. I think, in general, there’s some confusion between the contributor work vs participation from media/content folks, and that’s something that would be good to clarify first.

  Hi @karks88, this meeting was meant to discuss the work involved in the first phase, how/where we will be coordinating contributor work, expectations, etc, for those who expressed interest in joining as contributors. It was not open to the entire community as we first needed to talk about our own work as contributors. I’d be happy to host another meeting for folks who want to participate from the media side if there’s interest in it.
