New Electronic Resources
Women's History and Gender Studies Databases
The Smithsonian Libraries and Archives is pleased to announce the addition of four new databases on women's history and gender studies. This project received support from the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative.

Women's Studies Archive, Part 1: Women’s Issues and Identities, and Part 2: Voice and Vision
- Focuses primarily on the 19th and 20th centuries, providing a close look at some of the pioneers of women’s history, a deep dive into the issues that have affected women, and the many contributions they have made to society.

Archives of Sexuality & Gender: LGBTQ History and Culture since 1940
- Illuminates the experiences not just of the LGBTQ community as a whole, but of individuals of different races, ethnicities, ages, religions, political orientations, and geographical locations that constitute this community.
- Historical records of political and social organizations founded by LGBTQ individuals are featured, as well as publications by and for lesbians and gays.

- Comprises monographs, pamphlets, periodicals and broadsides addressing 19th and early 20th century political, social and gender issues, religion, race, education, employment, marriage, sexuality, home and family life, health, and pastimes.

- Includes essential primary sources documenting the changing representations and lived experiences of gender roles and relations from the 19th century to the present.
