Roland DeSilva graduated with a BS from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus and forged a career in publishing and investment banking. He held leadership positions such as chief executive officer, chief operating officer, international director and publisher at prominent U.S. companies including Thomson Corp., McGraw-Hill, and Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. (Chilton Company). In 1983 he founded U.S. Business Press, a nine-magazine business-to-business publishing company, in a deal that foreshadowed his future success in the world of communication mergers and acquisitions.
In 1996, Roland co-founded DeSilva & Phillips Investment Bank, in New York City. The company provides advisory services across the converging Traditional and Digital media industries.
Roland presently is Executive Vice Chairman of the environmental charity, World Information Transfer, President of 969 Park Corporation, is a member of Board of Trustees, Long Island University, American Business Media and Business Professional Education Foundation.
Roland and his wife, Mary, live in New York, NY. They have three children, and six grandchildren.
