John P. Ryan “Jack” (2015-2018) of Hingham, MA served as President, The Ryan Company, Inc. Rockland MA from 1969 to 2002. The Ryan Company was started by Mr. Ryan’s father as an electrical contractor in the Boston area in 1950. The company grew over time to become a national utility contractor serving the government market, i.e. military bases, hydroelectric power plants, and other government installations. The Ryan Company was acquired by Quanta Services in 1999 where Mr. Ryan continued until 2002. Since 2004, Mr. Ryan has served as Chairman of NEWest Construction Co. San Diego CA. NEWest is a utility contractor serving the Southern California area. Mr. Ryan currently serves as President of the Boston Golf Club in Hingham, MA, and as a Board Member of XCM LLC in Braintree MA, a software company providing workflow, scheduling, and tax software to the accounting industry and provides tax return processing through it facilities in India. Mr. Ryan is a Partner of DRV Investments LLC, a firm investing in early stage technology companies. Since 2010, Mr. Ryan has served as Commissioner of Hingham Municipal Light Plant, an electric utility. Mr. Ryan is a Member and Proprietor of Boston Athenaeum, a private library.
