George Gwynn Hill was born in Washington, D.C. and his family has resided in Georgetown since before 1790. He is Vice President, a stockbroker, and registered options principal for Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas, Inc., where he manages client portfolios with regard to equity investment selection, asset allocation, taxable and tax-free fixed income. He is an advisor to clients on money manager selection and is a Securities Industry Association panel member. In addition to his position at Folger Nolan, Hill was the organizer and co-founder in 1988 of Tysons Financial Corporation, a holding company for the four-branch community bank Tysons National Bank. Tysons merged with Mainstreet Bank in 1997 and with BB&T in 1998. His civic and philanthropic associations include the Landon School Alumni Board (2000 to present); President, Hillandale Homeowners Association (2000 – present); and Former Board member and treasurer, Washington Tennis and Education Foundation (1988-1998). He is also former President of the Washington Bond Club (1984) and a member of Christ Church Georgetown, Chevy Chase Club, Metropolitan Club, Sill Bank Collectors Club, and the Oldest Inhabitants Club, DC. He holds a combine BA and Masters in Philosophy (1976) from Tufts University. His avocations include tennis, golf, computers, genealogy, motor sports, wood and metalworking. He lives with his wife Christine and two children in Georgetown.
