The Switch may be at the end of its life, but Nintendo is still on the hunt for the platform’s biggest pirates. In a pair of new lawsuits, the console manufacture has taken aim at both mod chip sellers as well as the moderator of the popular r/SwitchPiracy subreddit. - Ethan Gach Read More

It was the chair heard around the world, or at least around CEO 2024. Alex ‘’Dyloch’’ Ruiz had just cemented his place in the Mortal Kombat 1 grand finals at the Florida-based fighting game tournament when he decided to get up, grab his chair, and casually fling it into the audience in what might be one of the least hype and most damaging pop-offs in fighting game history. - Ethan Gach Read More

The Guy Game is an infamous 2004 trivia game that featured actual women flashing their breasts in the style of Girls Gone Wild videos. It was banned from sale in 2005 after the studio behind the game was sued for including footage of an underage girl. This weekend it showed up at a video game convention booth full of retro games with a price tag of $250. - Ethan Gach Read More

Bungie has spent the past ten years exploring the depths of our solar system, but it seems like it’s finally gearing up to move on to something, or rather somewhere, else. At least that’s what it sounds like is going to happen in Destiny’s 11th year, which is tentatively titled Frontiers. - Moises Taveras Read More

With the remakes of the remasters of the reissues of the remakes, it does feel like there are always approximately 372 different Resident Evil games in development at any one time. However, brand new ones are a more rare treat, and that’s what was nonchalantly confirmed by Capcom last night. Resident Evil 9, although it almost definitely won’t be called that, is in the works, and it’s being directed by Resident Evil 7's Koshi Nakanishi. - John Walker Read More

A lot of Elden Ring players have been struggling with the game’s recently released Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The DLC, which takes place in an entirely new region, features a hard-as-nails boss gauntlet and a brand new leveling system that has raised the bar for folks, perhaps even a little too high. However, many are beginning to wrap up the expansion and return to the base game, and a lot of them are making a pit stop to flex on a particular boss. - Moises Taveras Read More

A few years on, it’s oddly hard to remember how difficult it was to get hold of the most recent generation of games consoles. On their release in November 2020, both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X were incredibly scarce, thanks to an imperfect storm of covid, global chip shortages, and supply chain issues. At the same time, the three-year-old Switch was also having supply issues, and consoles that were available were quickly snatched up by scalpers. But Nintendo reckons it’s in a position to ensure that’s not a problem with next year’s release of the Switch 2. - John Walker Read More
