Gin Tama (銀魂 Gintama), or Gintama, is a manga series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. It was published in Weekly Shonen Jump, and was supposed to end in Issue 2018-42, but Sorachi underestimated the amount of pages he would need to end the series.[1] The series moved to Jump GIGA[1] and published chapters 699-701 in the three 2019 winter volumes, which also featured Gintama on the cover.[2] However this was once again not enough, and it was then announced that the manga would continue in a free app where the manga would end "for real."[3][4] Chapter 704, the last Gintama chapter, was released on June 20, 2019.
Plot[]
Sakata Gintoki is a samurai living in an era when samurais are no longer needed. To add to his troubles, oppressive aliens have moved in to invade. Gintoki lives with Kagura and Shinpachi, taking on odd jobs to make the world a better place and to pay their rent.
