The long-vacation retirement model is out, encore careers in the retirement years are in. Or rather, they should be, because in the age of longevity and active ageing it is better for individuals and society. So what is holding us back?

We are in the age of longevity. To make it sustainable for individuals and society we must age actively. So what does this have to do with CSR? Just as high schools support planning for college years in advance and colleges promote career planning, corporations should help plan for what follows, i.e. retirement. And it should be an active plan.

This book is about starting over, but not from scatch, at any age.
Readiness in new beginnings is an emerging competency in a world that has become more precarious and uncertain, but also "flatter" and richer in opportunities. Luckly, this competency can be developed and the book, with its many tips and stories is a good starting point and an inspiration to try.
